About me
Curtis is in his 20th year as a member of McHenry High School's Student Services team. For his first 16 years, he served as a generalist School Counselor. He is presently in his 4th year as the district's College & Career Counselor. Curtis helps students and families work towards postsecondary goals and actions while also promoting postsecondary readiness within the district and the greater community.
Curtis earned his BS in Psychology from Olivet Nazarene University in 2002, his MS Ed in Counseling (School Counseling Concentration) from Northern Illinois University in 2005, and his MA Ed in Educational Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University in 2012. Furthermore, he presently serves as a McHenry High School Connections Crew advisor as well as a co-founding advisor of the McHenry High School Comics, Manga, & Fandoms Club. Curtis lives in Woodstock, IL with his spouse, daughter, and two tiny dogs. He is an avid Marvel comic book reader, obsesses over the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and manages to cheer for both the Cubs and White Sox without cognitive dissonance.
