In the digital age, media literacy is one of the most important skills we can teach our students—especially as social media becomes an ingrained part of their daily lives and misinformation spreads on the internet. But no student is too young to learn media literacy skills. In this presentation, K-8 teachers will learn how to incorporate media literacy in their classrooms, but also how to build those skills into a media production class or club. Teachers will also discover ways to empower your students' voices, create a student-driven publication for any grade or ability level, and learn the important role student journalism plays in a school community.
