This workshop focuses on how teachers can use basic restorative practices in their classroom to facilitate meaningful conversations with students. This includes the use of affective statements and how to align conversations with the CASEL SEL framework. The workshop will also show the connection between Restorative Practices and the district's Portrait of a Graduate. Teachers will learn strategies to use informal affective questioning, behavior management strategies, and formal restorative conferencing. Finally, the session will conclude with interactive scenarios where participants will be able to practice their newly learned skillset in a small group setting.
